On May 13, the top technicians from the Kansas City Region met for the Ultimate Master Technician Challenge at Kansas Speedway. The competition was limited to the top 6 Master Technicians from over 300 dealerships, as measured by extensive online testing over the past year.

Olathe Ford Lincoln Mercury technicians finished 1st, 3rd, and 5th in the competition and each received trophies, prizes and cash awards of up to $3,000. Tom Lohkamp and Ryan Meyers finished 3rd and 5th respectively and Vernie Newton was the top master technician in the 4 state area. Newton also traveled to Dearborn, Michigan in June, where the 18 regional winners competed for a top prize of $6,000 and a 2 year lease of a new vehicle, at the national Master Technician Challenge.

Olathe Ford Lincoln Mercury is one of the largest Ford Dealers in the United States and the largest dealer of any brand in the state of Kansas and all of metropolitan Kansas City, Missouri. It was the only dealership in the country to place more than one technician in a regional final.
